The African Democratic Congress, ADC has called for the suspension of the implementation of tax law in 2026.
The coalition of the opposition forces noted with may that implementation of the law will plunge ordinary Nigerians into more economic predicaments.
ADC in a statement, suggested serious consultation and engagements with small and medium entrepreneurs, Labor Leaders as well as the Civil Society Organizations regarding the matter.
The opposition party opined that all changes to tax laws should bring succor and relief to common man, not additional pain and hardship.
The party also urged government to concentrate on taxing luxury products and commodities.
ADC pointed out that the government will be responsible for all difficulties and hardship caused by the tax law, when implemented without proper consultation and engagements with stakeholders.
